The WSET LEVEL 3 course represents practically the first professional level and offers a more detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the wine world, while developing a high level of skills in describing wines adequately, taking into account their style, quality and price.
Analytical skills of wine description are practiced through tasting 82 wine samples.

Course content:

Key factors in wine production: Location, viticultural techniques, wine production, maturation and bottling.
Key characteristics of the main styles of still, sparkling and enhanced wines.
Characteristics of the most important wine regions of the world (climate and soil, viticulture, production, styles and classification of wines).
Store, serve and pair wine with food.
How to describe and taste wines using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (SAT) method through 82 types of wine.

Exam: 05. December (Thursday) from 10:00 to 12:30.
Number of recommended study hours outside the classroom: 54.
Students will receive study material no later than 7 days before the start of the course. The learning material is in English.

Terms and price:

It is recommended for this course that candidates hold a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits. Also, candidates with several years of experience in the wine sector can enroll in the WSET level 3 course without first taking the WSET 2 exam.
Each candidate must be at least 18 years old at the time of attending the course.
Course price: 129,167 + VAT, a total of 155,000 dinars (the price includes materials for studying and taking the exam).
The deadline for payment of the entire amount is 14 days before the start of the course
Taking the exam in the period immediately after the lecture is included in the course price. There is a fee for taking the exam in one of the following dates.

Examination:

The exam consists of two parts and is taken during the last lesson.
First part: blind tasting of 2 wines.
Second part: combined theoretical exam, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions and 4 questions to be answered in short written form, all in English.
Minimum number of correct answers to pass the exam: 55% in both the theoretical and tasting part.
Before the start of the exam, all candidates must show their identity card or passport.
The theoretical part of the exam is reviewed in London, at the WSET Directorate for Examinations.
All candidates who pass the exam receive official WSET certificates.

Examination retaking:

Taking the exam in the period immediately after the lecture is included in the course price. There is a fee for taking the exam in one of the following dates.
If they do not pass the exam, all candidates have the possibility to retake it in one of the following dates, with prior registration.
Candidates who attended WSET courses in some other centers can also retake the exams at the Balkan Wine Center.
Retaking the exam depends on the availability of places in certain periods, and also implies an additional monetary fee.

If one of the candidates cancels attendance at the course after the payment has been made, Balkan Wine Center will refund 50% of the amount paid, and only if the cancellation is announced no later than 15 days before the start of the course.

If Balkan Wine Center moves the date of the course less than 7 days before the start of the course, it is obliged to refund the full amount to the candidates if they do not want to attend the course in another term.

All data left in the forms will be used exclusively by Balkan Wine Center and WSET for the purpose of registering for the exam and awarding future qualifications.
